Dr Andrew Cary

Dr Cary has been in private practice on the Gold Coast since 1993, having followed his father into the obstetrics and gynaecology specialty.

He trained in south-east Queensland at the Mater Mothers' Hospital, Royal Women's Hospital, Ipswich Hospital and Gold Coast Hospital, before spending a year as a lecturer and senior registrar in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Liverpool, UK.

In 2000, Dr Cary joined with his colleagues to form Fertility Gold Coast which, in August 2011, became Queensland Fertility Group Gold Coast.

He specialises in obstetric care, infertility, all aspects of IVF treatment and hysteroscopic laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.

Particularly interested in high-risk obstetrics and the antenatal care around this, Dr Cary also has a passion for day surgery treatment, specifically hysteroscopic treatments such as endometrial ablations and resections and Essure tubal occlusions.

Dr Cary is the chairman of the Pindara Day Procedure Centre which he co-founded, as well as the chairman of the Clinical Review Committee of Pindara Hospital which is the committee that overseas all the clinical aspects of medical and surgical care.

Dr Cary is a past treasurer of the Qld CTTEE of RANZCOG from 1995 till 2001. He is the past Deputy Chair of the Pindara Hospital Medical Advisory Board.

Married with three children, Dr Cary and his wife love to travel and enjoy golf and snow skiing.
