Today, treatment for infertility remains more affordable than ever before. Medicare rebates, Medicare safety net refunds and private health insurance provide substantial financial support for people requiring treatment. Treatments related to Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) attract rebates under The Extended Medicare Safety Net (EMSN) scheme.

Queensland Fertility Group offers the complete range of fertility treatments, including some low cost and minimally invasive options right through to In Vitro Fertilisation. Upon diagonosis, your fertility specialist will discuss the treatment options suitable for you. A detailed cost breakdown and plan to minimise out of pocket invoicing will then be provided, meaning that rebates can be received from Medicare as quickly as possible.

Medicare Safety Net Threshold

If you have registered with the Medicare Safety Net and have reached your threshold, you will receive an additional refund on top of the minimum amount refunded

This additional refund is 80% of your out-of-pocket expenses for services with a Medicare item number.

As each patient’s treatment plan is different, it is impossible to provide exact figures of what this additional refund will be. If you haven't reached your Medicare Safety Net threshold, Medicare will only refund the minimum amount indicated in the table below.
