Dr Gary Swift

Dr Swift was born in 1965, raised and educated in Brisbane. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland in 1988 and commenced specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1994, obtaining the FRANZCOG qualification in 1999.

Clinical rotations included Gold Coast, Royal Women’s and Mater Mothers’ Hospitals as well as North Queensland, Lautoka (Fiji) and the Western Queensland Flying O&G service.

He undertook highly specialised training in Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery, Endometriosis and Infertility as the Clinical Endosurgery Fellow at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne in 1999 before returning to Queensland to commence private practice. His practice includes general O&G with particular interest in the management of infertility (including IVF) as a Director of Queensland Fertility Group – Gold Coast regional centre.

He has particular skill, training and enthusiasm in LAPAROSCOPIC SURGICAL TECHNIQUES for HYSTERECTOM, benign ovarian and tubal disease, prolapse and ENDOMETRIOSIS performing several hundred such procedures annually.

He maintains his knowledge and skill in the very latest techniques through continuing education courses and conferences throughout Australia and internationally via professional bodies such as the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society.
